How do I remove perfume stains?

Removing a perfume stain can seem like a difficult task but with patience and the right techniques, removing it can be quick and easy. Follow our tips to help you get those perfume stains out of all kinds of surfaces.

  • On clothes: Rinse fabric with cold water as soon as possible after it has been stained. Diluted dish soap can also be used to help break up the stain and create a barrier between it and the fabric fibers. Spray chlorine bleach could also be used; however, this should only be attempted on white fabrics.
  • On carpets: Blot the stain using an absorbent cloth or paper towel. Take equal parts of white vinegar and water and mix together, then spray the mixture onto the stain. Let the mixture work into the fibers and use a damp cloth to remove everything else.
  • On furniture: Mix equal parts of liquid dishwashing detergent and white vinegar together. Dip a soft brush or cloth into the solution and dab it onto the stain until it is absorbed. Rinse well with warm water and a clean cloth.

No matter how careless you may have been in spilling perfume, it’s not too late to save your items from being permanently stained! These tips should help you get those pesky perfume stains out faster than you thought.
